Julia Butt commenced as a Senior Research Fellow with NDRI in September, 2009. Julia is a clinical psychologist who has previously worked as a clinician, clinical supervisor and researcher in both the Aboriginal Community Controlled health sector, Government Sector (Queensland Health, QLD; Department of Corrective Services, WA) and she also works in private practise. Her research interests include Aboriginal mental health and drug use, development of drug misuse in Aboriginal youth, cognitive-motivational predictors of drug use,evaluation of community driven interventions and systemic approaches to research translation. Julia received a Dean's Commendation for excellence in PhD theses from the University of Queensland in 2006. She is currently a Healthway funded Senior fellow working on a range of collaborative projects with Aboriginal communities.
