Introduction

Dr Tina Lam is a Healthway Research Fellow investigating ’Effective health promotion with young risky drinkers'. She is also the national coordinator for the 'Young Australians Alcohol Reporting System (YAARS)', a collaboration between the National Drug Research Institute (Curtin University), the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre (University of New South Wales), and Turning Point (Monash University). YAARS aims to investigate trends in alcohol use among young people over time to examine risky patterns and influences on alcohol consumption amongst Australian adolescents.

Her previous roles have included being the WA coordinator for the Client Pathways through Treatment (‘Pathways’) project and the Patron offending and Intoxication in Night Time Entertainment Districts (‘POINTED’) project. Tina's PhD explored alcohol and other drug use at school leavers' celebrations ('Schoolies') which was recognised with a McCusker Centre for Action on Alcohol and Youth award.
